How FrameZero ranks films
The FrameZero Score is not a made-up number. It is a weighted combination of three things we can actually observe: the quality of the film itself, the independent signals around it, and the momentum it is showing right now.
Craft
~50%How well the film works as cinema: story, visual quality, cinematography, audio, character consistency, originality and emotional impact.
- Editorial seed scores
- Gemini metadata analysis
- Creator-verified tool credits
Signal
~30%Independent corroboration: festival wins, official selections, creator reputation, tool credits and cross-platform mentions.
- Verified festival sources
- Channel metadata
- Cross-platform signals
Momentum
~20%Freshness and velocity: recent views per hour, likes, comments and completion signals when the platform shares real data.
- YouTube / Vimeo public metrics
- Recency of release
- Trend velocity
What the score looks like
Example: The Trigger — a real title in the catalogue.
The three bars above are what a visitor sees on every film page. If platform metrics are not available yet, the Momentum bar says "Not yet measured" instead of inventing a number.
What we do not do
- We never present a score as an official rating from the filmmaker, the platform or a festival.
- We do not invent views, likes or momentum for titles where real metrics are unavailable.
- We do not keep trailers, adverts, music videos, tutorials or pure model showcases in the catalogue.
- We do not inflate craft scores to make the catalogue look bigger.
Confidence levels
- Creator verified
- The creator has confirmed the tools, festival wins or production details we display.
- High-confidence analysis
- Multiple independent sources agree on what the film is and how it was made.
- AI-assessed from metadata
- Gemini 2.5 Flash scored the title from its title, description and thumbnail. The model has not watched the full film.
- Editorial seed score
- An editorial judgement set when the film was first added to the catalogue. Re-assessed by the agent on each new pass.
